We'll say it up front, we like this game a lot. Anyway, What's up there? Welcome to a very interesting oddities in our reviewing blog in which two of the author works together to create one article about a game, albeit a part of it. The combination for this review is both the Ikmal, the Mal and Mal connection. So, let's get to the reviewing. It's also important to take the fact that we a re going to review the first act in the game only for reasons we are not going to disclose.

Shadow fight 2 is a mobile phone game and a sequel to (surprise-surprise) shadow fight 1. It's a 3D fighting game in 2D plane like those you see in the street fighter and recent Mortal Kombat series. The models are made up of shadowed figure of everything, hence the 'shadow' in the title. The mechanic use the system deplete the bar to incapacitate the enemy and might run from one to three rounds depending on what game mode you choose. Talking of mode, there are 4 in the first act, which are; tournament, fighting special people to get money; duel, fighting online with other people; survival, beating ninjas in a survival manner to earn money; and boss fight mission, in which you beat aforementioned boss' bodyguards until you reach him. There are also challenge mode in the later act but like I said, less about non-act I stuff.

"If people see our shadow only, they will think we are...oh...sh*t"

Shadow Fight 2 have a very interesting combat system unlike one you see in recent fighting game (in a console sense i guess, considering our preference). The game depends a lot on it hit-scan system which includes slow and long winded swings. It is not fast pace and is more wait and see how it goes type of game. That said, there are still ways to do a fast fight as your combat style depends on which weapon you use, and there's a lot of weapons to choose from. The weapon styles are balanced and each includes a type of long reach, short-quick attack with different input combination (don't get your hopes up, it is pretty simple). Some style are gem (the pay stuff) constraint but from our experience, you will get the same style later in the game if you are powerful enough.

That said, one of the most prominent aspect that we love about this game that it is free and with enough effort, you could win it without emptying your wallet. Rarely you felt a fight is too hard, mostly it's either a slight of mistake or your weapons are not upgraded enough (which is really easy to do). There are also an overall of 6 act and from what you an see, we got this much to say for only one of it, go figure how long a 6 act review might take. The boss fight are also no joke, it is not easy, nor too hard that it is unfair. Do upgrades and by the time you are not one-shot-ed by him, you'll have the skill to beat him.

That's gotta hurt

Shadow Fight 2, with its graphic, is not very taxing to a device (tested on xperia M2, I'm not good with phone so i guess it's not that powerful...?) It use an on-screen controller, obviously. Control are responsive and considering the fight work, you would not even notice it. Sometimes the game crash but it might be due to some other programs that are running(whatsapp....uh....). Anyway, the game run smoothly as it plays and the music is a bit repetitive, thus I mostly played with only sound on and the music off. The weapon sounds fit its purpose and every jump and dash are highlighted with good enough push and puff sounds.

So, Shadow Fight 2: act I, how does a mobile game fare in our eyes?

Pros:
+Unique fighting system based around hit-scan
+Myriads of fighting style
+Lots of contents
+Good game to play on the move

Contents
-A bit repetitive on the music and sometimes the gameplay
-A few crashes and a bit of slowdown
-Fight mechanics might put off some
